About the Charlotte County Chapter

The Charlotte County CARMA Chapter was founded in 2008.

As of the end of 2023, we have spayed or neutered and rabies vaccinated 3,327 cats.

When you consider how quickly a cat colony will grow if not spayed or neutered (a single pregnant cat can produce up to sixteen kittens within eighteen months) you can understand what a positive impact we are having on Charlotte County.

We care for numerous colonies providing shelters, food, and what medical care we can. As well as spaying or neutering the adults, we are fortunate to be able to work with two Animal Shelters, the Charlotte County Animal Shelter and the St. George Animal Shelter, to whom we surrender the colony kittens to be adopted.

We would not be able to do all of this without the support that we receive from our community - so thank you! Thanks to those who donate, trap, transport, and fundraise for us. Thank you to everyone at the St George Veterinary Clinic for their amazing and endless support.

If you need help or would like to get involved in the program and volunteer, please contact us!
