About the Amherst Chapter
Since forming in 2013, we have provided TNR (trap-neuter-return) for more than 300 homeless, abandoned and feral cats, in Amherst and surrounding areas. We have a very small group of volunteers who do everything from fundraising, fostering, trapping, holding clinics and caring for many homeless cats and kittens. If you would like to get more involved with our many areas of need, we are always in need of more volunteers.
We strive to find forever homes for the many adoptable cats and kittens in our care. Please note that our FB adoptables is managed and updated by volunteers or fosters, so our page may not contain a complete listing of photos of all cats and kittens available.
Formed in July, 2013, initially the Amherst Chapter was covering the immediate area of Amherst, but since that time has broadened their area of support to include other areas of Cumberland County, including, but not limited to Springhill, Maccan, River Hebert, Oxford. Requests for assistance in areas outside of Amherst, depend on availability of volunteers to assist in these areas with such things as trapping, travel, etc.
